People will always, always refer to this configuration as a "Commander" no matter what any manufacturer names it per Colt's trademark on it. You know it and I know it. We'll both be feeding worms and people will still be calling all 4-1/4" 1911's "Commander's."

So if you do decide to put a scope or red dot on it, I assume you'd have to remove them to get the receiver back in the stock?

Since buying my colt 9mm competition pistol I have really fallen in love with the 1911 in 9mm. It has been 100% reliable with and factory ammo’s I have put through it. Looks like a 9mm commander is in my future.

Awesome, no nonsense video, I recently bought a p226 in 40 and it came with a Sig 9mm barrel and Mec-gar mag and was a bit apprehensive about shooting it like that, i do need to get a recoil spring obviously

Great thoughtful content as I have come to expect. Over the years I have come to the point where in the 9mm, 115 or 124 are fine with me. I do like the plus P or even +P+. Speed is the key to performance with the 9mm and the 124 is right in the middle. Little speed and a bit better bullet weight. Been around long enough to have been issued the Black Talon in 147gr. If issued you just shut up, use the equipment issued, and make it work. Most LE spend little time with extensive cartridge and performance testing. It is time-consuming and expensive. Most usually mirror the equipment of the largest agency in the area or the FBI. While firearms and shooting are a part of the job, it is no longer as prominent or emphasized as it might have been in the past. For the non-LEO, do a bit of your own research and stick with the top-tier brands. I am sure Federal, Winchester, Hornady, etc have something that fits your needs. Avoid the exotic stuff with ominous names.

I don’t get it you finally decided to not worry about dirtying up your gun so you got rid of the nice wood furniture and replaced it with plastic why not just dirty up the wood? It would still look good a lot better than the plastic

I know there is a big push with Turkish firearms. For range and games, I guess... I will and have made the investment for the Benelli m4 LE and not just something that looks like it. If I didn't want to make the commitment for a real m4 or a 1301 or a 300a, then 870 or 590 or 5901a1!

The NOS East German set is nicer than that shiny surplus wood. You wanted a conversation piece now you have it. Would be nicer if it was built with an East German kit though

I usuall would never purchase a forgrip with a light however i did order a forgrip with the light on it for my 2000 gen 3. It will keep.it lighrer with the other add ons.
